Weird things that you're self conscious about?
I know I feel self conscious about a lot of things that myself and my friends think are quite odd, like for example, if my hair is a normal colour like blonde or brown I feel extremely self conscious when at the mall or whatever because it feels like it looks ugly and that everyone is staring at it. For some reason, having my hair extremely bright and noticeable colours makes me feel more confident. It's weird.
Also, I am really embarrassed about my strange tan on my feet from my shoes, My feet are extremely pale except for the really tanned part which sticks out when I wear my favourite shoes and jeans, so it makes a brownish band around my foot. I hate it so much even though I know people won't see it.
What silly things make you feel self conscious?
lol I used to have a ton of these! I had absolutely no butt at all until the past year! When I was in high school I wore a cape- because I was cold all the time and the school didn't allow us to wear our coats- but my wool cape they said nothing about. What was great about it for me was that it covered my flat butt so I didn't have to show everyone how seriously top heavy I was.
My wrists were also a huge thing with me. Because I was so small, people used to put their hands around my wrists to measure how small they were. It was pretty hard for me to take after a while.
Of course now that I'm older things are different. When I was 18 I was in a car accident that burnt off part of my face. I still have some light facial scarring but having to walk around for a couple of weeks with a black eye and half your face missing really changes a person. I cut off all my hair my senior prom night and have pretty much gotten over my faults.
Of course that doesn’t stop me from noticing all my new stretch marks- sagging pores or the fact that my arms are now jiggling whenever I move them (the joys of sagging skin and getting older).
I'm self-conscious about my feet. I have really small feet and usually wear between a 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 in Women's, only my body build would suggest that I wore more like an 8. I'm short and stocky and pretty curvy (and I don't mean covered in rolls like most other people who try to call themselves curvy, lol) but I have tiny, petite feet that don't mesh with my muscular calves and thighs. I always feel like people notice my feet (I guess I don't help myself by wearing weird shoes) and think they're way too small for the rest of me.
Pretty ridiculous, huh? lol
I'm super self-conscious about the general shape of my body. I'm completely flat chested but I have a really big butt(seriously big). So I never wear tight shirts because I think it makes people notice how skinny my top half is in comparison to my bottom half.
I dislike my nature hair color too.
But no one's perfect so I try not to think about it.
Aw Pinkweeds! I'm glad that you made it out alright! Car accidents are one of my biggest fears
I am pretty self conscious about body hair. I know that sounds strange but a lot of women in my family will get dark hair on their upper lips, their stomachs and their lower backs. I go out and buy bleach so that no one will ever see if I ever get that problem. My sister thinks I'm crazy but hey, maybe I am just really paranoid. ha
And I have what I think is a big nose. Nobody other than my mom agrees with me. I hate having people look at me from the side because I don't want them to think I have a hideous nose.
I have eczema on my hands and if I'm having a flare up it can look like they've been badly burned. Hands are pretty noticeable so I tend to wear gloves a lot when I'm out. It doesn't help that, when shopping, the cashiers tend to practically throw my change at me rather than put it in my hand. I always want to yell that it isn't a plague, you can't catch it, but I don't.
My nose really bothers me it sounds weird but i have a bone the kinda sticks out on one side towards the top and makes it kinda crooked....i never wear sunglasses as a) they emphasis the size of my nose (and hide my eyes which i like) and, b) a lot of them won't even fit over the bridge of my nose cuz of it!
Also my stomach. Since having my daughter my belly is really wobbly, not fat but kinda like excess skin. I lost my pregnancy weight but my belly stayed wobbly...and also if i go on holiday and catch the sun it makes my stretch marks (esp on my belly) way more noticeable
Somebody stop me please!! my list is endless!!
Laurel S. just noticed your from Snowdonia! Not too far from me,i'm in Prestatyn!
Lol Claire we had this conversation before on your Christmas dinner thread I'm near Llanberis, in the foothills of Snowdon
I used to be really self conscious about my knees. I don't know why, I guess I just thought they looked weird, but I got over that a long time ago. Also I used to be a little self conscious about butt. It's big and not like fat big, just big. I get it from my mom. But my friends started making fun of my butt, not in a mean way. It was funny and I just learned to accept it. But the thing I'm most self conscious about is my nose. I still think it's big, but I know it is and I deal with it. Kids have been making fun of me for it since second grade, but I changed a lot in junior high and I just started to say thank you whenever someone would say something to me.
I have hair on my upper lip, but I wax it. I blame it on genetics
Really Laurel? whoops!! Memory like a sieve!! :/
Oh michelle i get darkish hair on my lip....it's not thick or anything but i have really dark hair naturally so i notice it....not sure if anyone else notices but i bleach it anyway!!
I get some upper lip hair too! Apparently I get it from my bubbe. She died when I was 9 and so wouldn't really know but I have to get it waxed off also!
I don't like my hands, they're like baby hands and my nails are really small. It doesn't help that I bite my nails but still.
And my stomach is big and sticks out so I get self conscious about that.
And I've got stretch marks & big thighs.
I get a bit of hair around my belly button.
I've got a slight double chin, even though I'm only size 10 UK.
Oh God! I sound like a right 'un don't I??
