If I ever could lose the weight I'd love to go as Alice from the Resident Evil movies. But it would definitely require some sewing skill, I've never seen a dress like this in stores.

That would be a dazzling halloween costume. ! Actually, I think anyone of any size could pull of this Alice character. Sewing skills, maybe, but it doesn't seem super hard. Maybe you could rummage through what you already have and see what dresses/ red stuff you could work with.

And I definitely can't sew rhis purple dress, so I'm going to have to hunt for a dress too!

Well... I wasn't really looking forward to it this year as I had no plans. HOWEVER, me and my mum are going to be going up to my sisters in Mansfield (Nottingham) Hallowe'en weekend so I can finally take the kids trick or treating!! I've never taken them before so I'm SUPER excieted.

I want to go as something that the kids can relate to and know/understand. So I'm a bit stuck... any suggestions?

I'm just hoping I have the time/talent to make my costume. The cape seems pretty easy, but.... idk about the dress.

i'll have to look up mighty boosh too x3

It seems like dresses are the big prob in everyone's costume ideas :p

Kid friendly costume? Being a crayola would be kinda cool, easy too. If you wanted to do that, you could take a poster, tape it into a cylinder, poke holes in it to tie straps, draw the crayola logo, and make yourself a hat too. Perhaps thats a bit too kiddish though; you can also pretty much be anything in a 2D form with big cardboard/ big paper. For example, you could draw like a huge toothpaste and cut a head hole and be a huge toothpaste. Tongue

OMG you guys have some cool ideas! Abbyka, you could get a yard sale/thrift store red spaghetti strap dress, slit it up one side, and wear a black mini skirt/shorts underneath it. I've seen tons of dresses that look like that minus the slit, at thrift stores.

K-Li, I love the Not-Waldo idea, and I love that you called him special ^.^

I'm making a ladybug costume for my 3 year old daughter. I'm going to a party 2 days before H-Day, and going as a forest spirit/goddess. I have a flowy brown skirt that has a wrap look to it, and is long in back and short in the front. I still haven't decided on a shirt/top...I have hunks of fabrics(wheat colored, teal) and 2 kinds of wide sheer ribbon(sage green & henna colored) that I'm going to incorporate. I'm going to make antlers out of tree branches, and put a mini wreath in my hair as a nest, with a little Cardinal sitting on it. Maybe a cool medallion necklace, not sure about shoes/tights yet. I want my husband to be The Green Man, so he can be my counterpart, but he hasn't decided yet. The party is a Fairy Tale Realm party.

I'm helping with the decor, and we're doing the outside magical and sweet, with white fairy/Christmas lights strung from tree to tree, and hanging jarred candles from tree limbs. She has a big swing hanging from a tree, and we're putting vines up the chains. Indoors is going to be like inside a witch's house. We got wall stickers of black birds in flight, tons of candle holders and cool earthenware vases, bowls and jars. We may hang dark fabrics over the walls, to cover the pictures. She wants to get a huge cauldron and set it on the table. We're going to dry flowers and grasses/greenery to look like herbs, and tie them in bunches and hang them around. OH, and we have some of that spider webbing stuff.

@ wonkadawn Zombie rainbow brite ftw.
@abbika im sure your kids will be happy with what ever you do for them. ! when i was a kid i liked my grandma's homemade costumes better anyway.
my foot is in like an air cast. its weird its this big plastic boot with pads inside that inflate. its surpisinly comfy. i may be able to walk without the crutches by then. i get xrays done this week and if it looks like its healing well i will deff be good by halloween. no hunted walks but im sure i can do something. more or less im worried about bills now. what with being unpempoled recently. I would be a mummie but i already made fairy wings and a mask. it really depends on what it is halloween wise ill be doing to my costume. it gets pretty cold outside here so if im going outside ill prolly wear the wedding gown...
