Need a good kids beanie pattern

Hey friends Happy
My mom wants me to crochet 15 beanies for the kids in her class, she teaches 1st grade so the kids are like 7years old. Anyway she is buying the yarn for me I and just putting in the time to make them for her, and I need a good pattern. I know you can search on ravelry and pinterest and there are a few here, but I was hoping someone knew of a good one they had tried already.
I'm fairly new to crochet, but I have found that if the pattern is easy to understand, or written out I can do just about anything.

So can anyone recommend a pattern for 7 year old kids? Nothing fancy, just a plain beanie, because I am going to add in stripes of the school's colors. Happy

Thanks!

Have you ever been on ravelry? It's amazing, I'm sure you'll find a simple beanie pattern.

Yes I have been on ravlery, I was just hoping could recommend one that they have tried. Sometimes I get part way through a new pattern, and realize its rubbish.

Oh wow, I'm sorry about that, I guess I wasn't paying attention.
And I'm sorry again, I don't know any patterns. I'm more of a knitter than a crocheter. But I hope you find something!

Brandi, that is a super cute pattern, I don't think it will work for the ones I need for my mom's class but my best friend just had a little girl so I will totally be using it for that! THANKS FOR SHARING!! Happy

I know the perfect pattern. My sister teaches school and I've used it for her 2nd grade class for the past 5 years. It uses simple dc for the body of the hat and then finishes with a couple of rows of ribbing to keep it from being too simple. Let me know if you still need it and I'll try to find the link (after doing it over 50 times, I have the pattern in my head!).

Yeah Kerri, if you can find the link that would be awesome! I've found a pattern that's ok, but not great. So I'd love to test out the one you have in mind Happy

Finally found it - it wasn't at the sites I normally use for crochet patterns.

It takes less yarn than it calls for for me, but I crochet tightly. The first time I used it, I got the ounces it called for and had enough yarn to do 3 more years worth of hats.

Have you ever tried whats known as a "Knifty Knitter" you can purchase the set in Walmart and Hobby Lobby and Micheal's its not crocheting it is technically loom knitting but it is extremely easy and soooo addictive. The kit comes with 5 round looms in pretty colors from very large adult hat to newborn baby size. Works with practically any yarn so fun ! I am going to attach a picture or two of my masterpieces.Hope this helped...enjoy and happy crafting !
