Sounds like you and your boyfriend are abit like me and my mum.

I'm kind of a lazy person, my mum will leave me chores to do and I'd just do other things (I'm getting better obviously) but it's just a lazy thing from the sounds of it, then he'll get angry when you confront him as a defence mechanism or guilt? Or maybe abit of both...

What I do now is get a post-it note, when my mum lists chores that need doing. I'll bullet point them on the post-it note (making several copies) and plant them around the house, particularly on the TV and my Laptop, since that's how I percrastinate most of my time...

Hope this helps...

I think this is one of lifes great mysteries lol Men, chores?????? You are kidding right hehe

I live in a house with my fiance and our 2 boys aged 15 and 6. Aside from occasionally taking out the trash they do absolutely nothing. I've tried for years to get them to help out around the house but nothing has worked. So to save my sanity I gave up and do it all by myself. I think I got more stressed at trying to get them to do anything than actually doing it myself.

I guess I'm doomed. I am a total slob and was hoping to find a man to do chores for me. I can't imagine me and a male version of me living together. I did date a single father who kept up all his and his daughter's chores and cooked (which I don't do either), but he was a total a$$!

See, the problem is it's not just men =P I live with four other girls, and they NEVER do anything! It drives me crazy. They leave stuff out to mould for weeks, and I refuse to touch mould. I don't mind doing the washing up occasionally, I really don't, but I'm not going near mouldy stuff. And at the moment, someone's dumped all of their stuff in the sink with water, but not actually cleaned it - meaning the sink's full so I can't clean mine! I think later on I'm just gonna have to put their stuff somewhere, but it's all gross and has meet on. And no one ever takes the bins out, they just let them overflow, or at most will take the bag out and replace it, but leave the full bag of rubbish just in the kitchen. The main bin is ten seconds from our front door - you can see it from our kitchen window!

Now, this is why I live by myself, everything gets done just the way I like itHappy

Or doest not get done- just the way I like it. ;)

Well the thing is, I rarely do the washing up straight away - if I lived on my own, I'm sure it'd build up. But it'd get done when it needed to. Right now I just can't do anything!

With my room mate will leave messes and garbage and dirty dishes for days. First I put them all in one area so she can't miss it. Then if she doens't pick it up in the next couple of days I put everything on her bed. Then she remembers for the next couple of weeks LOL.

With my husband I deal is I do the laundry but he has to put his away. So needless to say his clothes just sit on the dresser until I walk in the room after a while and throw them all on the floor. Then he puts them away.

I have to do the dishes after dinner. I can't bear to see dirty dishes first thing in a morning, it really pees me off (I know *anal, party of one* sigh). I make my bed as soon as I get out of too. Though I'm fairly relaxed about everything elseHappy

Shasta is there anyway you could make up a timetable for doing chores?? It could help...otherwise...good luck... My boyfriend is just as bad sometimes, but not going to lie...I'm not exactly perfect and when projects come due, I dont touch the house.

I guess I have been through some ridiculous housing situations with roommates, so at least he takes the garbage out on occasion and fills the dishwasher. I was in a house with a girl who should have condemned the property. I stopped taking out the garbage and doing her dishes just to see what would happen...the most DISGUSTING place I have ever ever ever seen. She did NOTHING, beyond set mice traps up for the mice that her garbage attracted to the house...then let the dead mice sit in the traps for weeks on end. I moved out early (paid rent cuz no one was going to sublet with that slob), and had to come back at the end of the summer to clean it up for the new residents... She hadnt taken out the garbage for 4 MONTHS, the apartment had flooded and she didnt do anything about it, mold everywhere, the dishes were not done and had to be thrown out, dead mice in the cupboards (they were living in the stove by this point), and she laughed it off like it was nothing...
