Christmas gift - Mini Top Hat - Question?

Hi All! Happy Holiday of your choice!

I decided to make two mini top hats for some friends for the holidays, but I'm stuck on one part - what is the best way to attach the hat to your head?

I've seen three methods: A ribbon tying it to your head, a plastic headband, or alligator clips. Which one works best? Any opinions?

Plastic hair combs work well, but otherwise alligator clips will do.

I agree with alligator clips, but if you don't have any laying around you could also use bobby pins.

depends on the hat's shape I would say. Generally my choice is between clips or thin plastic headband

I made one with a thin strip of fabric attached to the bottom so you could slide in either clips or a headband or bobby pin it to a fancy updo, depending on how you felt like wearing it that day. Just make sure the fabric strip is snug if you use this method. If it's too loose the hat will just slide around on the clips.
