sculpey in the microwave?!

i was making some very small things out of sculpey which typically has to be baked in the oven. i didnt want to burn them because i thought the oven would be to hot so i stuck them in the microwave for 30 second increments until hard! it works!

This is what I do with tiny pieces made with sculpey:
get half a cup of boiling water#
drop in the sculpey creation
put in microwave for 3 minutes
allow to cool, take out and allow to dry off...perfect!

Yeah it does say that Abbyka becuz microwaves don't distribute heat the same way ovens do, but hey, whatever works!

WOW, I'd be afraid that any of these microwave techniques would make it explode. xD

Also--I make tiny things all the time in the oven. Just bake them for 15 minutes instead of the full time. They won't burn.

I haven't had much issue with anything burning. I had one thing burn once, but it actually worked for the piece so I left it as is instead of painting it.

You can cover your piece(s) with foil when baking to keep them from burning too.
