Needlework question

I hate to hand sew crocheted (or knitted) pieces together. Has anyone ever tried using the stretch stitch on the sewing machine to put a garment together? If so, how did it work?

I never tried it because I suspect it doesn't work. Maybe you should just give it a try but probably best not to use your good machine for that.

Thanks. I do have a good and reasonably priced sewing machine repair man, so I just might risk trying it (I only have one machine). I also have some old-but-unfinished projects that I can experiment on.

I have thought this before, I reckon if your stitches are dense enough it would work.

I say this because I bought these arm warmers earlier this year and they are a tube and were "shaped" by a sewing machine. I twas a mass made product but hell if they can do it.. so can you. Let me know how it turns out!!

I'll definitely let everyone know how it works, but don't hold your breath, because I'm not quite ready to do it yet!
