yarn from old sweaters....

so i've heard of people finding sweaters in the thrift store from yarn, and taking them apart to re-use the yarn (btw its environmentally friendly) has anyone done this before? I plan to, but since the yarn is old i'm wondering how it was working with it's condition, was it difficult to take the garment apart?

http://www.az.com/~andrade/knit/thrifty.html I came across this (or something like it, I can't find the actual page, or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly) awhile back, and I took a sweater apart. It wasn't so bad, but I never did anything with the yarn. Tongue I think I still have it lying around somewhere.

WOW. I feel stupid. That is so clever, I've never heard of that, or thought of that. But I'm definatley going to do it now.

I've done it, its not hard, but try to find a sweater thats in good condition, otherwise the yarn can be pretty unruly. Have fun with it though, its definitely worth it!
