I am a HUGE fan of Halloween and was missing it greatly. I was at the market and thought whow I could do the same thing to a watermelon I do to a pumpkin. I am having a halfway (well over halfway now) to Halloween party and will line my driveway with these handsome watermelons!

Clear off a table or area on the floor and line it will a trash bag. I would not recommend newspaper because this can get messy!

Begin like you would an actual pumpkin. Designate a top and cut it out.

Now because a watermelon is much more dense than a pumpkin you will spend the bulk of your time on this part. . .Cleaning out it's delicious flesh and placing it into a large bowl or pot. What I will do this time and recommend for all of you to do is to make a watermelon salsa with all you have left!

Once your watermelon lantern is all cleaned out you then get to draw the face and wah lah!
