So this is made from the tape in a VCR tape. You can not recycle the whole cassete. However if you crack the case, you can crochete with the tape inside and then recycle the plastic and metal from the casing. This was made using a half double stich. LARGE crochete hook. It is a bit sticky to work with but I have found it goes much better when you mix it with yarn or do two strands at a time. :)
