best pants to exist

i used a kit. make sure the garment you are dyeing is almost 100% cotton or the colour wont hold. these pants were 95% cotton and turned out well

    soke the pants (or other thing) in water

    lay pants flat on floor. take a dowel or pole of sorts (i used curtain rod) and place it in center of pants. turn the dowel until the pants are a tight swirl

    tie the bundel with yarn,string, or elastics. make sure it's secure

    let bundel soke in soda ash for 20-30 minutes

    put the colours dye on in any pattern you want.

    i did the swirly pattern. to do that you split the bundle into 3 parts (in your mind) and put the colours on. do both sides.

    make sure to get the dye in the folds.

    i forgot to do that so there's a lot of white left.

    wrap in plastic-wrap and put in plastic bag. let sit for 24hr or more.

    rinse in warm water until it runs pretty clear. then put in washing machine with old towels

    now you have spiffy new pants. go frolick and be a crazy child
