  1. Step 1

So the first thing you're going to do is to take your measurements.
You're going to have to measure your bust, your hip, your waist and how long you want it to be.

This is also when you have to decide if you're making a tube top or dress. (If your making a dress just make it longer...)

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Now make your pattern.
Simply mark out your measurements and connect them together. It should look something like this <--

Don't worry if the pattern isn't really straight, it won't show in the end.

    And don't forget seam allowance!!

  3. Step 3

Now cut out your fabric. Your going to cut out to pieces, one front and one back.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Pin both pieces right sides in and sew a seam down both sides of your tube.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Still wrong side out measure and pin a casing wide enough for your elastic.

Sew the casing making sure to leave a gap so you can feed through you elastic.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Next take out your elastic and place it around your body where you want the tube to sit. Remember that the elastic should be a bit shorter then your measurement since it will stretch.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Put a pin or safety pin at one end of your elastic and feed it through your casing.

Once you've gotten all the way around sew a seam to connect your elastic.

    Sew the gap closed

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

Now all you have to do is hem the bottom if you want a finished look.

Feel free to add pockets, ribbon, buttons or what ever you have lying around...
