"Starstruck" Pasties Shirt

  • Completed Project: "Starstruck" Pasties Shirt Picture #1

Burlesque inspired, very simple t-shirt recon.
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

All eyes'll be on you in this tee that was inspired by my love for all things Burlesque!

Sorry for the lack of photos.
My SD card reader is currently broken.
I have a few cellphone photos, but I created this tutorial AFTER I did the recon :/

If you've got any questions, feel free to message me! I'll resond ASAP :]

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Alright, first thing's first.

Decide what shape you'd like your pasties to be in [I opted for stars in this tutorial], and trace that shape on a piece of paper. Then, cut it out! [snip, snip]

You can make one copy of it, or 2. Whichever's easier for you.

**Try to keep your design at 1.5 - 2 inches in size, otherwise your pasties might look a little weird.**

  2. Step 2

Next, round up your scrap fabric.

Take the paper pattern you made and trace it onto the scrap fabric 2 times.

    Cut the shapes out.

Now you have your pasty appliqués!

  3. Step 3

Go ahead and put on that fitted tee.

Observe yourself in the mirror to decide on good [and accurate] placement for your pasties.

Take the marker and place a tiny X where you'd like one of your pasties to go.

Use a ruler to make sure the second X will line up to the first one, and mark it.

  4. Step 4

Now get out of that fitted tee and grab your pasty appliqués!

Use some straight pins to place your pasties over the X's you made.

Now handstitch your pasties onto your t-shirt!
Handstitching takes a while, so you might wanna turn on some of your favorite tunes!

I DON'T recommend using a sewing machine since your pasties are small.

    I DO recommend using a thick thread;
But if you only have thin thread, just tie 3 pieces together and thread 'em through the needle.

DON'T FORGET to start from the inside of the shirt.

DON'T FORGET to tie off your ends!
