  • Step 1

I made my mobile out of cranes of different sizes that i already had laying around, but you can make your own.

  • How to make an origami mobile. Paper Crane Mobile - Step 2
    Step 2

If you don't already know how to make origami paper cranes then check out the tutorial in the picture.

  • Step 3

after you have mastered the art of origami cranes get some colorful paper and fold away. i have five cranes in my mobile.

  • Step 4

after all of you cranes are created and are flying around the room, pick your color of thread.

I used this redish pink thread, but use whatever color you like, i was going to use invisible but the red was more convenient...

    anyway,
combine the needle and thread, and make sure you have enough so it will be long enough for the whole length of the mobile.

  • Step 5

thread your cranes in the order you would like them. mine are by size...

tie knots around the cranes after they are in the place you want them. you don't have to tie knots on the tops of them, but you can.

  • Step 6

    TAADAA

there you have it, your mobile.

hang it from your celling ( i used a thumb tack and stuck it though a knot i made at the end of the thread)

i think it would be cool to make a million of them and hang them all from the celling to make a sea of cranes.

This was an idea I saw at vernon mill in Stockport (UK) they made hundreds of these cranes in children's workshops and hung them all from the ceiling (it was a very high ceiling), It looked amazing. If i had the space to hang it I would make a version.
