This is my original pattern of apprentice geish (maiko). I diagrammed the entire process of the doll from head to toe. Some of the things that distinguish a Maiko from a Geisha are the red juban (undergarment), the extremely long kimono sleeves and the hairstyle. It took me a while to create the elaborate hairstyle (Wareshinobu). They were really fun to make and I loved making the hair accessories.

You rock! I love dolls like this, but I don't have the talent to craft one:( Anyway, I think this project has a lot of cuteness and creativity. So Japan-nice!
