I was trying to come up with super simple holiday ornaments, that you could make with your kids. Well, how about this one? A 2-1/4" circle of cardboard, and some 4-ply cotton yarn.

Mark the cardboard edge every 1/4" and then cut a 1/4" slit at each mark. Then just follow your basic string art method and you will have an adorable double-sided holiday ornament in a matter of seconds. I hung mine up with a paper clip. Why not try this with vellum, or even with plastic from a 2-liter soda bottle? Hang jingle bells or mistletoe from the bottom, maybe ribbon or a bow...use metallic yarn, or even put a photo in the middle of your string design. The possibilities, as always, are endless.
