Description

another felt brooch - i am obsessed!

Instructions
  1. 1
    Step 1

    draw a toadstool design.
cut out, trace around pattern and cut out two pieces, black for back and white for front.
cut out a pattern for the cap and cut out in red.
    then cut out a stalk.

  2. 2
    Step 2

on reverse of cap draw some spots in various sizes - i used a leather punch for the small spots and cut freehand for the larger spots.
using three strands of embroidery thread join your cap to the white front piece by sewing around your spots.
sew a safety pin to the back of your black piece.

  3. 3
    Step 3

next sew the detail of the gills(?) then sew top of stalk onto white front using blanket stitch.

  4. 4

cut another toadstool pattern from card/cereal box trim down a little, use a little doublesided tape to stick all the pieces together.

  5. 5
    Step 5

lastly sew it all together with blanket stitch.

i did a couple versions - i think i prefer the black detailed one.
