I calculated the cost of my materials and this necklace cost around 50p / $1 to make, so this is very very very cheap bling.

That is so awesome Cat and so easy to make- when I first saw the picture i thought "There's no way i can make that" but really it's so simple!!!! I just need to get some shrink plastic- haven't seen anywhere that sells it.

WOW! That is SO cool!!! Everyone needs a shiney bling Bling!!
Did the tacky stuff you used to keep the shrink plastic on- was it hard to get off of the shink plastic?
I'm going shopping today for bling stones!!

That is a really cute idea! What exactly is shrink plastic? Is it like Overhead plastic or is it thicker? I'm not sure we have it in Sweden.

22 Jan 15:43
No, it came off really easily. Just do the classic blu-tack tactic (like the pun?) - take a ball of it and then roll it on the bit you want to remove, that will get it off nice and easily.

How did you move the letters together?

23 Jan 12:33
Just using an image editing program, I think it was FireWorks. I literally selected each letter and moved them closer together.

I love this necklace though if I ever make it I might use something other then my name. I think it might look a little weird with anything over 5 letter, but hey I might be wrong.

27 Jan 05:09

For those of us with unique first names this may be the only way we get personalized accessories. Plus who doesn't love sparkly things?
