Just read The Amityville Horror again. The movies do this book no justice. Now I'm such a wuss - I have the hardest time with scary movies, but something about this book is so riveting I have to read it every fall, and usually do so in one sitting. If you love getting the creeps this book is a good one.

Oh...K-Li. I read that for the 1st (AND ONLY) time in the 11th grade. I began it during lunch at school and was soo hooked, I couldn't put it down. I was up till after midnight to finish it. I was sooooo afraid I'd see little red pig eyes in my window!

Let me tell you, I was so scared, I went and slept with my mom. (We were never close, so I had to be really scared to do that!) She got up for work at 4am and I didn't want to be left alone, so I skipped school and went to work with her. LOL

I had to drive to my grandma's house after dropping her off, and the whole time I was totally freaking out.

Other than the obvious, Harry Potter, there was one I practically read in one day. It was an assigned book from school that I actually did enjoy. It's better known as a movie with Leonardo Decaprio, but the book was amazing. It's called "This Boy's Life" by Tobias Wolff. It's horribly depressing though. I think the main reason I couldn't put it down was because I so desperately wanted to see something good happen for the kid before I set it down for the night.

Redwall Series
I won't say that it's my favorite book, but I couldn't put down the Gemma Doyle series either!
Also, Hannah by Kathryn Lasky, and the Enola Holmes and Rowan Hood series by Nancy Springer
I have to say that my favorite book is East by Edith Pattou (BEST retelling of a fairytale EVER)

Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Keisha'Ra Series and The Den of Shadows series both by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Out of these though, I absolutely LOVE The Chronicles of Narnia! I plan on reading them all again, whenever I get my big book back from my sister.

I just finished Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick - if you liked Twilight you'll like this. It's AWESOME! It's the sequel to Hush Hush which is also pretty good but you have to read the first one to really get what's going on in Crescendo. It's like a paranormal romance meets mystery story, sorry for rambling but seriously - go and buy it!

I've been trying to find The Amber Spyglass for foreverrrr!

But I love Lord of the Rings. I'm a major LOTR dork. But anything by Chuck Palahniuk and David Sedaris is a love of mine.

Soul Catcher... Not my usual choice of reading material, but I was desperate. Thought I would never actually finish reading it, but it took me less than 3 days. Literally, could not stop!

Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver was short, I read it straight through and pick it up again every so often. Mostly, it's amusing, but the dark pages are very dark.

The Scarlet Letter
Oliver Twist
Tortilla Flats

Spirit Fox (Wish I knew who wrote that. I think a woman)

And I agree with forever&4always: There's something about Sarah Dessen. I always felt like her character is one of my friends so I was actually in on whatever was going on.

The Ancient One by T.A. Barron! The first time I picked it up, it was still a bit over my head. But when I came across it again in the 8th grade it got in the way of my schoolwork like a crush! I couldn't stop thinking about it. But, I admit, I didn't expect any of my friends to enjoy it the way that I did; there was something about it that intrigued me, personally.

Just about anything by Piers Anthony will see my noseprint on every page, but his humor, language, and writing style are all very close to my own, so he came naturally to me.
