There are a few people (myself included) who expressed dislike for the book on the twilight thread.

I think it's completely God Awful myself, but it was so bad it was comic gold to me.

yeah, me and my friends read twilight again and laughed every time Stephanie Meyer used a adjective that meant sparky, pretty, or cold. There was like 153, but we lost count. We're so cynical for 6th graders, its sad.

Did you noticed she used the word "crooked" to describe his smile every single time in the first book... except once? Just once, randomly, in the middle of the book she refers to his smile as "[Bella's] favorite uneven smile"

It happens around sixth grade ^_^... I think I worked my way out of it.... Maybe? I have more optimism... some days Happy

I enjoyed it, but the movie just sucked. I found that Bella was too whiny

Haha you rock. I don't love them but I read them. I relegated them to the "yeah, I read those books. Whatever" part of my bookshelf

I enjoyed the book, but i agree with michelle G, the movie was horrible. And I never really noticed until Violinagin D. mentioned that she used "crooked" to describe his smile. Ha, the funny thing is everyone i know is obsessed with the books, but i guess i just dont see what's the big deal about them.

My mum is reading it and can't put it down! She has a habit of telling me the entire plot of a book with the smallest of details, by accident.

describing it as a 'fluff' book is good Happy I dunno I just like it, I have to know what happens next I think that's down to Edward, the mystery is sexy, the character playing hard to get is oddly attactive too (plus I imagine him as the guy from the film who out of character isn't my type, but we'll see when I see the film). I really relate to Bella's situation with her dad, feeling a bit down, out of place. It doesn't feel teen at all because these kids all have cars and I've always thought American kids seem more grown up. I don't like the way she doesn't stay in one tense all the time though it makes me loose my flow, I think that's an American thing though cuz sometimes I've heard Americans recall things from the past in present tense. And speaking of which they always change UK versions for Americans but they never change it for us, so it's lucky I know what somethings are in US sayings!

I didn't know where else to put this but don't worry I won't talk about it all the time.

I've never been much for teen vampire junk, and I'm not into Twilight, either. Anne Rice is way better, but I just don't like the sexy vampire fad. I like my vampires to be like Nosferatu.

even when they are seriously evil i find it sexy haha I have a bit of a neck/bitey fetish LOL. I've never read any other teen vampire stuff and I just can't see this as teen, it feels too sophisticated but I know what you mean about other vampire junk, I'm not gonna go running around claiming to be a vampire or something haha

I saw the books before I knew about the film, and then later I came across them again and saw that the film was coming out so I had to read them before the film because sometimes even trailers can ruin it. I don't think anyone who enjoys them is coming on some sort of bandwagon, I hate it when you get insane fans like 'I well read twilight before anyone else had even heard of it'
