Halloween help what fabric should I use ?

I am going to be kitty pryde for Halloween and I'm making it myself.
I have a sewing pattern but i dont know what fabric would be the best. I know spandex but I have never worked with it before and am a little afraid of working with it. what do you guys think of a knit like a yoga pants fabric?

A knit would work well. When I was a cat I used a cotton spandex mix. It was some weird fabric that I found. Usually patterns will say what type of fabric will work best for it.Happy
