About

I am the creator of Knits for Life. I have a passion for new experiences, an eye for style, an ear for wit.

From the SF Bay Area, O earned a dual MS in Plant Biology and Evolutionary Ecology at Michigan State, where I taught biology and co-authored works about the processes by which new species of life evolve.

My passions for nature, culture, and language have taken me all over the world, from Panama to London, and from Mexico City to Istanbul. I studied in the Canary Islands and Baden-Württemberg and speak in Spanish and German.

I took up knitting as a mindfulness practice and continue to use fiber arts as a lens for the curious relationship between creativity and mastery.

Check out my knitted and crochet hats and patterns on my website and in my shop!
