I had been hearing about the album for years and itwas so high up the pitchfork greatest albums list I had to get it. And my god it was shit. whiney vocals and piss poor production. And then after about the 3rd listen start to finish the whole album opened up and was just majestic. and I find that song so romantic in its honesty

I loved it right from the beginning.
I remember the first Neutral Milk Hotel song I ever heard- Holland, 1945. I was awestruck instantly. It took me about a year to even feel the need to listen to any other Neutral Milk Hotel songs, I'd found the perfect one, why would I need to hear any others? Turns out they were all completely brilliant too.

The song is called In an Aeroplane over the sea, its taken from the album of the same name.

No Roma I haven't heard On Avery Island yet but it's top of my "to buy list" along with Music from the unrealized film script, Dusk at cubist castle by the Olivia Tremor control.

I don't know half of what you guys are talking about. I'll go out on a limb here, especially with narrator, but did anybody watch and like "Twin Peaks" from the 90's. I loved the mystery and the intenisty of the show and I love to listen to the music.

My friend let me borrow his DVD last year and I like watched all the first series in about three days.

I haven't got round to watching the second series though.. I heard it's rubbish so I might just not bother.
