Forest Bands & Fairytale Rock

The only kind of music I listen to. My favorite bands are The Pixies, Rilo Kiley, Forest, The Magic Wands, Bondage Fairies, Emilie Autumn, The Deere or the Doe?, Forest City Lovers, Castledoor, Stereo Total, Bambee, The Antlers, Doe Deere, The Willowz, Apples in Stereo, Smashing Pumpkins, Leaves, Future of Forestry, Sea Wolf, My Little Pony, Xafarai, Aqua, Woodland, Faun, Tiggy, Bright Eyes, Rasputina, ect. , basically any band with a forest-y name or forest/fairytale themes in their music eg apples, keys, lost in the forest, cottage, snow white, ect

Any reccomendations?

I still listen to them every now and then. Imitating angels is my favourite. I'm glad someone else knows them Happy

Is this a genre or your personal preference? Interesting, either way.

Thanks everyone, It's a genre I invented out of personal preference. Hehe, the only Evanescence song I enjoy is Snow White Queen. Thanks for helping me discover a new favorite The Nymphs!

The Mediaeval Baebes, Faun, Faith and the Muse, Loreena McKennitt, Collide, High Priestess, Tori Amos, Wendy Rule, and Stevie Nicks. I know lots of FaerieGoths that listen to these bands. I love Switchblade Symphony!

I don't know many, but Omnia is a great band, or Jethro Tull's ' Songs from the Woods' album? Rapalje is more folk, not very fairytale or foresty though. Korpiklaani, if you're in to that. Led Zeppelin has some foresty songs I believe, Mediaeval Baebes, as mentioned. Nemesea (primarily their Mana album), Tunng, Xandria.. Abney Park have some foresty and fairy tale esque songs, Angelzoom, Blackmore's Night, Corvus Corax maybe? That's about all I can think of right now.

Seabear, an Icelandic band, very good music. http://www.last.fm/music/Seabear

Sigur Rós, means Victory Rose, their music and lyrics invoke an otherworldly feeling, like creeping through the elf infested countryside ;) I love them.
