Story about a grandma who gets super powers when she eats porridge?

Does anyone remember a story (or stories) about a grandma who eats porridge and then gets super powers? Think Popeye but with a porridge-eating grandma haha. She thinks she's going mad because she remembers these stories but we can't find out what they are as google is turning up nothing Happy.

Here's what she's told me so far...

i thought i remembered reading books when i was younger about a granny who gained superpowers from eating porridge
it was an old granny and was any old porridge, it gave her super strength
i remember one book where she was tied up in a warehouse and there were some boxes of porridge, so she ate some and got free

My boyfriend remembered the show Supergran, so I looked that up on Wiki and apparently that is based on books by Forrest Wilson, I cannot find any information about wether the gran in the books ate porridge though, there doesn't seem to be much info out there.

I remember Supergran Happy They turned it into a TV show and Billy Connely sang the theme song. "Stand back Superman, Iceman, Spiderman..... something something something.. Happy
