Buried Alive!

so to put it simply, I used to have my own apartment but was forced to move back home with my parents and so all of my stuff is in storage or crammed into my little room. Things are getting out of control.

I've done everything I can for storage, purchased a writing desk with shelves on them so my overflowing 7ft book shelf doesn't break under pressure. I installed shelves on the wall, stuck plastic drawers in the closet, a shoe caddy under the bed (those things are not made to fit easily under one's bed by the way). Purchased cubby box and filled it with all my fabric, hung all my purses on the small corner by my door. I'm busting at the seams with all of my every day stuff and no place to put it- for example- I'm simply out of space for all my shoes, I'm honestly considering selling some of my lesser used pairs which for me is a huge deal because I love my shoes.

I also don't know what to do about all my fabric...

I really want to re-claim my desk for writing but it's crowded with my serger and my sewing machine which are used on a regular almost daily basis. I'm going crazy!

my mum would say use boxes, that's her answer to everything, except what u want tends to be at the bottom i found. she also says to put everything away after use.
my parents just took a load of my stuff (which i cant bring myself to get rid of) down to my grandads because i was "taking up too much space" they literally took 5 big boxes of my sentimental stuff down and are storing it there. so the space they made just got filled up with other stuff, then they bought me things for xmas and that has no place to go >.<
can you hang stuff from the ceiling? ive seen hanging things in ikea

I had the same problem except I moved in with my boyfriend's family. I just have to work with the space I have. I got an extremely LONG ikea desk so half of it is for working/writing and the other half has my serger and sewing machine living on it. I bought a cheap Craigslist TV cabinet, repainted it and gave it new hardware - its perfect storage for all my sewing stuff and folded fabric. My dresser is actually inside my closet under my shirts, to save floor space. My purses all live inside my luggage when not in use and I just had to pair down my own shoe collection.

Don't get discouraged! There are ways to store everything it just takes some re-arranging. For example, save your shoe boxes! I'm going to find some pretty wrapping paper and cover all mine to make them nice to display and easy to stack on one another.

Have you tried vac bags - I'm really limited with my clothes storage so I store anything that I don't need right now under the bed in vac bags. They're great as they shrink down so small once you've hoovered out the air.
