Does anyone have acne tips?
I wash my face once to twice a day (Once in the morning, once at night). I change my pillow cases regularly and keep my hair out of my face when I need to.
My acne has been relentless for the past two weeks. My face was sorta clear this morning and now it's just, well, gross. It's just so frustrating >o<
astringent - a good general acne wash. soak it into a cotton something and wipe it around your face. the normal one is kinda strong so i use sensitive...
salmon - if you eat it it helps.
well, thats all i have, except proactive and toothpaste. you could definitely look up acne recipes online, there's a ton, involving fruits and veggies and such.
Baby powder! Mix it with a drop of water, and use it for 3-4 days! Aspirin is also good, because of salicylic acid in it! )
I've used toothpaste before, it works kinda meh. I'll be sure to try the other stuff c: Thanks guys!
It might be a sign that you are coming on your period perhaps? I tend to break out a bit just before I come on??
All I can suggest is keeping your face clean - which is what you are doing - and keeping a good wholesome diet.
Don't use an exfoliating facial scrub as it will irritate your acne, use a gentle smooth one. I find typically that a facial wash or cream with tea tree oil in it is good.
I use Superdrug's own brand tea tre oil facial wash, I use it in the shower most mornings:
Ooooh and try not to wear make-up that will clog the pores!!
I don't wear make up. And I am about to get my period (not that anyone has to know that xP) it's just never been this bad. I've been trying my mom's clinque stuff, and it's working pretty good so far o: Well until I go out.
Can I purchase Superdrug's stuff in America or do I have to order it offline? Haha
As you age the signs of your mother nature comming will change. You're what between 16-19? thats the time when it changes the most. acne could be something new. i went through a whole year last year when like a week before my flow would show itsself id break out really bad. before this i almost never had any acne. a year later i dont break out anymore but have other signs. there's other reasons for getting sudden acne. Stress, you can wash your face once and hour and have a deit of a goddess and you will have acne if your stressed out. if you are stressed out some quick tips : deep breaths and do not over work yourself. a good hot bath or shower to calm down will do wonders. also try not eatting fast food. its a big pore clogger
hope i helped. also a good face mask i use to help rid myself of acne is oatmeal and honey.
i make these and they really help aton.
grinded oatmeal (i put reg oatmeal in the blender to grind it)
non flavored yogurt (plain yogurt)
Honey (honey is expensive go get some honey dips from mcdonals or a place that give sauce for free and if you do this get 2)
mix them all together in a bowl or cup.. you want to have a paste. not too runny not too thick. id tell you the porpotions to use but it varys from person. you want to use both honey packets. if you bought it then use 2 table spoons atleast. as honey repels pimples. id start with a spoon full of yogurt and mix accordingly with the oatmeal untill you have a paste you like.
apply on a slighty damp clean face.
leave on 20 mins and wash with cold water. (i wash it off with warm water and then wash my face again and rinse that with cold water)
How do you wash your face? I find a good solution is filling the basin with hot tap water (obviously not too hot that you can't touch it), rinse your face this will open the pores, use a tea tree face foam (like Lolly.Bot said, scrubs can be just as bad for your acne!), then rinse off with the hot water in the basin. Drain the hot water, and splash the face with cold water to close the pores.
Have you dramatically changed your diet recently? Doing less exercise? I know it sounds strange but these things do affect your skin. As like Luna said, what about stress? That's how I get my spots!
Age will affect this also, I'm not sure how old you are but as said above your teenage years are going to be the worst because of hormones. Also, the more you stress about spots, the worst they get. Believe me!
I sincerly hope it clears up soon because I know how it hits your confidence and brings your whole mood down!
I'm 19, and I shall definitely try the oatmeal thing, since I have all the ingredients :p I'm not too stressed out either. I've never seen tea tree face foam, but I'll keep an eye out for it! Thanks guys, you've been a big help
I would imagine you could purchase Superdrug's stuff in the US, Superdrug's also does their Tea Tree facial stuff in foams and wipes and all sorts. So long as you get foams/wash/gel's they are all pretty much the same thing, so long as the stuff you put on your face is a smooth liquid then that's fine, as I said, scrubs will irritate your skin more.
I would imagine Tea Tree should help as it is a natural anti-bacterial substance.
But like Ruby said, wash your face in warm water first to open up the pours.
I've got a facial steamer/sauna thing, I find them very good for opening up pours. The instructions say that the bit where you put water you can also add a few drops of Tea Tree oil. That could be another way.
Maybe drinking more water?
And I forgot about stress, maybe you could try something like yoga? Or find breathing techniques to help you deal with stress??
I adore yoga! Maybe I'll get back into it. I've been doing the hot water first then rinsing with cold, and I already see a difference. I switched over to a smooth face wash, and a wipe.
And I drink pretty much just water :p Thanks for the helppp again xD It's really quite useful
YAay!! Glad it's getting better!
Yeah if you use make up remover wipes make sure you always wash your face after or rinse anyway because they have some nasty chemicals that you don't want sitting in your skin overnight :/
I've heard witchhazel works wonders on acne. I don't really get acne, just a small break out right before my period even though I'm about 25, but others I've known have used it to good results.
witchhazel worked pretty well on me, I just forgot to do it..
I dont really have any advice, but I've found that crying and junk food make it worse..
Mineral foundation is pretty good, because it doesnt make it any worse.. a website called everyday minerals possibly has the best mineral make up I've ever used. better than maybelline or one of those expensive brands. Who would of thought $12 foundation would be better than a $40 one...
