What did you get for gifts this year?

Now that all of the gifts have been opened, what fun new things did you receive? Some new yarn? New jewelry making items? New tools to cook up some great recipes? Something else? Let's chat about what fun new things we will have to play with in the new year.

My best gift was having 10 days off with my husband and son. I, also, received some new things for my acrylic painting hobby including some books and a light that will fit on my easel so I can work into the night. I, also, was given some beads and tools for my jewelry making. I've wanted to start painting in watercolor and got some things for that, too. I haven't been able to play with anything yet because right before the holidays I ended up with pneumonia and am just starting to get my strength back to do daily tasks. Sad I can honestly say that I am going stir crazy and am wanting to play with all of my new tools.

@peg-r You will have to post some of your paintings. I did oil when I was really little and have done some acrylic. Acrylic is more forgiving but oil is better if you want texture. Haven't done much watercolor except for my mandalas.

That's great that you got time with your husband and son. That's the best part about the holidays is being with family.

I got a lot of great stuff. Nothing crafty but I did get a ukulele, which I love. I m trying to learn Somewhere Over the Rainbow for my uncle who's in a coma. I said he would come out of his coma just to say, "turn off that racket!" Haha.

Have a Happy New Years! I hope to be more crafty and get a dedicated craft area in my new apartment.
