Birthday cake designs!

So I went to Dairy Queen yesterday to order my birthday cake (because ice cream cake is my favorite!) but I wasnt sure what picture to get on it, so I got a pic of a sugar skull that I liked and I brought it in with me and the cake decorater said she could do it! I was so excited, usually you have to pick a design out of the book they have but she's going to draw a sugar skull for me.

So now I want to know what designs/pictures/shapes have you guys had for your birthday cakes?

My mom always baked me heart shaped cakes. There was a big heart and a smaller heart on top of it.I loved those cakes and she still has the heart shaped pan,so when she had her 5oth birthday I made her the same cake. Happy She loved it.

My best friend had once a very expensive castle cake with all these cute figurines and i begged my mom for one.She ordered one for my 13 or 14 birthday and it tasted soooo bad that she baked the heart shaped one the last minute. Happy

Other then that I never had designed cakes, but I made one for our bass player for his b-day and I stenciled "happy Birthday Pedja" with powdered sugar on it.Everyone loved it. Happy

That heart shaped cake sounds really cute! I like how your mom made you a cake last minute because the other one tasted bad. It's a very cute story!

This is the picture the lady at Dairy Queen is going to draw on my cake

I made a forest cake for my man's birthday. We used pirouettes for logs, and gray candies for rocks, and green frosting for ferns and on two upside down ice cream cones for pine trees. He wanted a "manly" cake.

We once made a very ugly cake using fondant and we made flowers out of gum paste. It wasn't very good looking though.... it tasted good!
