Where do you get your fabric?

Wal-Mart moved to town and put all of our fabric stores out of business...now Wal-mart has stopped selling fabric and most EVERY thing you need to sew. ie. elastic, buttons, ribbon, bias tape, etc. I usually get most of my fabrics from strange places, like dresses, table cloths, sheets and curtains that I find at yard sales and the Goodwill. I LOVE recycling unusual fabrics, but sometimes I want new fabric to make a particular item.

Were can you find CHEAP fabric to buy online. I only want places that people have actually ordered from and have personal experience with. Hmmm?

P.S. Hope I posted this to the right board. lol

LOL thanks Sheila I was about to post that link too.

I sometimes get my fabric from a local sewing shop about a mile or so from where I live. But the guy doesn't always have the best fabric, or the kinds of patterns I'm looking for. I checked out some of the websites from the link Sheila gave and some of them are pretty fab.

So if you want brand new fabric you could have a look at some of those websites Happy

I've bought fabric from ebay before, because the sellers rely on good feedback you tend to get a good service.

I know! I can't believe wal-mart stopped selling fabric! There is one about 45 minutes from my house and they still sell fabrics.

I get mine from

~Hobby Lobby (they should have a website)
~hancock fabricks (they deffinately have a website just google hancock fabrics and a very wide selection of fabric!)
~ I have looked on amazon quite a bit and eventhough I have not ordered any; the prices are good!

I really hope this works!! I know how hard it can be to find sewing supplies, so I had to search and ask around myself too! Happy sewing!

I get my fabric from J&O Fabrics, and CryBaby Boutique. It's kind of expensive at J&O but not more than any other place online. J&O is cutsie fabrics at a very decent price, I will find fabric I have seen there on other sites way more expensive. And they are always having sales, and bargain boxes. Plus when you order you get a coupon for 15% off. Which isn't bad. (=

I get most of my fabric and supplies from Ebay and Etsy. There are a couple of nice fabric and crafting stores, but they're not in downtown Seattle. It's quite a trek to go out there, so I try to only go once a month or so. I get great deals on Ebay - a lot of people do free shipping now. And there are a lot of sellers in the fabric section who have thousands and thousands of positive reviews, so its a fairly safe bet to order from them!
