New Year's Traditions

I don't know if there's a post for this. But I was reading a funny article about new year's eve traditions to see if I found something I'd like to do.
So far I found wearing yellow underwear for money and luck, red for love.
At twelve o'clock grab a suitcase, run outside, and run around the suitcase several times so you can travel a lot during the year.
Eating 12 grapes during the last 12 minutes of the year. Each grape is a wish for the new year.

You guys know any other interesting traditions?

My mom would open all the doors in the house and say we're letting all the old air out and the new air in....or something like that?? lol She also made us eat something green for money and black eyed peas for luck?? It's been so long....lol

I wanna try the suitcase thing! Haha!! I don't really have any but I saw on the news where there's a big thing called Good Riddance Day - and you write down all the things you hated about 2009, and destroy them! They had a giant paper shredder, but I suppose you could burn the paper too! Out with the old, in with the new! =)

Well crappers, I didn't get to do it because it poured down rain! But I figure at midnight, it's technically the 1st of the month, so i can do it anytime today and it shall still be effective! Tee Hee!

A new years tradition that we tried last night was to walk around the block with some coal, a pound coin and something else... and then walk bk in the house at midnight, as in out with the old and in with the new. the coal means warmth, the money = wealth. I can't remember what the third thing was :S

If you would like to be prosperous next year and have the ability to buy new things, throw an old pair of shoes out the door (make sure it's a pair you won't wear anymore)

Another one is to eat soba noodles which symbolizes "longevity".
