Sewing machines

Okay, so, I am not really cheap, I just don't have any money to buy things with. That is part of the reason I recycle things, because its more cost affective [the other reason, obviously, environment], but I've recently upped the anty [I have NO clue how to spell that] on my craftyness, and I have to sew LOADS more, so I need a sewing machine... but, of course, I need one for cheap does anyone know anywhere where I can get a GOOD, cheap [yea, right] sewing machine, or maybe just give me an estimate of how much the average sewing machine is...

You can do pretty well with thrift stores or yard sales. Or try your local sewing machine repair shop. I think you'll get more for your money buying used then getting a cheapie at Walmart.

Also, ask around. Lots of folks have machines they don't use. I have "custody" of my best friend's machine right now. Just have to learn to use it...

I already know how to use one, my pre-school teacher was really into the 50's and she taught us how to use a record player, a sewing machine, taught us about the 50's cars.

Plus, I've been in theatre for 3 years, so I've had to sew A LOT of costumes... its just buying the dang thing thats hard, lol

Go to Craigslist.org, click on your country, then your city, & post what you want in the Wanted section.

I did that for getting a dress form & it really helped.

Hope that helps.

Happy
