When I start running low I use buttons and sew a button hole. Or if I am too lazy to sew a button hole, I use a button that closes with an elastic band lol. Also I start stealing velco and zippers from my husbands old cargo shorts and pants, I keep them in a big garbage bag just in case I could re purpose them Happy

Lacings work on most things, as do hook and eyes. Even some jewelery odds and ends could work...

Elastic hair ties stitched into seams with button closures.Even found myself using fabric inchie as closure on a needle case this week.

I save all those extra buttons they give you with shirts and sweaters... the variety can look really cute all together. I've used "skirt closures" on things, hook and eyes, I'm starting to look into snaps but I need the tool since I mistakenly didn't buy the kind you can do yourself.

Just remembered another good one... D-rings. All you need is two D rings and a some scrap fabric.
