Does anyone know if resin will melt rubber or silicon?

I make lots of stuff with resin, but I only use the molds that you buy for them. I too have been looking into ways to make a custom mold. I know that you can, but I would be weary of rubber/silicone. My husband told me to try making a resin heart in this flexible rubber like mold I bought around the holidays, and it just comes out flexible and tacky.
I would just stick to the molds made for resin. But if you do find any customizing ways, please let me know!

not really, unless it is a larger item which will give off more heat, it really depends on the type of silicone, i have tried different moulds for resin casting, most seem to handle it quite well, but i have had a couple that the resin sticks to and the cast piece wont come out Happy

Ah see oddly enough I'm happy you said that. To be honest I want it to stick in the mold. I think if it does it may be healthier to keep them in my ears
