My son is on a similar eating program for his allergies and asthma as well @flemingjohnny. It has helped him a lot as too.

Silk Soy milk always made me feel just as bad as regular milk. (I'm lactose intolerant.) Silk Almond milk is really good though. The Dark Chocolate is really good and tastes amazing as a coffee creamer replacement. Aldi's also sells cheaper, and really good almond milk.

I've made my own almond and Walnut milk. It is crazy ridiculous easy and I can't believe that this isn't going on in more kitchens!!!!
You soak your nuts for 6 hours drain the water (it's filthy!!)
Then add nuts to processor and add water blending for a minute or two.
filter milk out of the meal and squeeze in a towel to fully drain.. and!! if you dry the meal it can be used for gluten free flour.....
2c nuts= 4 cups water.... and if you have the guts!!! after the milk is well filtered put through coffee pot to sterilize it and put in sterilized glass jar while still hot, it seals itself and lasts months!

I've been thinking about making my own almond milk, but I usually drink Full Circle organic almond milk if I use any at all. I usually keep it around for cereal since sometimes regular milk doesn't like to play nice.

I think almond milk here is cheaper than making my own, sadly >.< I don't think I really go through enough to make making it worthwhile. It takes me like 2 weeks to finish a quart.

Oh, yah. It does take time to finish it! I always argue with it, like "you aren't real milk" I know that is just government brain washing on cows milk....It's still a struggle, I made a smoothie with it it was good! It had a hit of nut flavor, greatness! I haven't thought of anything else to mix the milk in except maybe a mac-n-cheese that way minimal amounts of dairy are used.
OH and!! I just saw on TV (it makes sense). If you eat meat or starch have a veg or bean with it, and you should not have indigestion almost ever!!! It makes since too, Veg and beans create gas to push food down. Dairy in small amounts could be more tolerable if had with beans or veg. You really need other food to digest the more complex foods otherwise they sit in your tummy...
I am writing a cook book my ladies, and I will inform of health benefits and understanding why you really want to make your own meals and didn't even know it!

I've been using it now to make protein smoothies. Chocolate milk flavored whey powder, plus almond milk and some fruit makes a really yummy shake. My fiance doesn't like almond milk because it has no protein, but I like it for its calcium content.
