First Halloween as a crafter!

I keep hearing all of these great costumes people made for past Halloweens, and I'm jealous Tongue This will be my first Halloween as a crafter, but I don't think I'm good enough to make a fancy costume.. I do think I'll be trick-or-treating this year, at my mall, because I'm only 13 and in looks I could pass for 9 or 10, and its free candy haha. So if I make a costume, it'll have to be something I can walk around in easy and not rip apart in the middle of the store (AWKWARD!).

I like Pikachu, from Pokémon.. Gir, from Invader Zim.. Pandas and penguins.. I was thinking one of them? But how would I go about doing it, in terms of fabric, measurements, stitching etc..? I've never tried to create anything this big.. or wearable.

I was pikachu for halloween last year! lol
I'm a noob at sewing so my costume was pretty simple. I just did a pikachu beanie and a yellow jumper. There's tutorials on here for them.
This was it:

and I made a tail too from fleece and felt and stuffed it with cotton:

Love your costume Sherilyn! It seems pretty easy too =D I might pick up some of the cheap Tee's from my craft store and paint his brown strips on, get some yellow pants (For some reason my Sears has them. Also available in green, pink and blue o_o) and stitch on a felt/fleece tail, make some yellow gloves and facepaint my face (Or use an old Pikachu mask.. Not my first year as Pikachu =P).. Hm, but the shoes.. Yellow sneakers? Maybe, maybe...

Oh, hey, hottopic now sells a pikachu headband and tail kit! Now, if I can just get some fabric, I could make the body~!

oooh yay! lucky that it came in on time Happy
maybe you could wear brown shoes instead of red? idk i think it would be easier to find brown shoes than yellow or red ones unless you painted your old shoes or something
and I don't think it would be hard at all to find yellow fabric, just how you'd make the body would be a little confusing but maybe you could find some tutorial on here you like and alter to look more like pikachu Happy
