I can't write anymore

I'm a writer who can't write anymore. I don't know why but for the past week or two I can't seem to be able to write anything. I usually crank out a poem a day but now I'm just not inspired by anything and when I do have a thought and scribble it down it's rubbish. It's seriously horrible, I read it back and it's awful. I feel like I'm missing something... It feels like I have all this built up power and tension that I can't seem to let out of my head. I wish I could just write something... anything.

Is anyone else experiencing a creative block?

How do you put an end to the madness?

my english teachers always suggested just writing without trying to make it into anything. write whatever is in your head and don't look at it until you're done. or find a quote/picture/whatever and write whatever it inspires you to write. maybe a rose makes you think about a birthday, etc.

Calm down and you should go alone anywhere you love in your city. look round, enjoy it, be happy and wait coming words at the end of this day Happy

You might be able to try what I do with my guitar. Sometimes i play and I feel like I'm not getting anywhere and I'm not motivated. I pack my guitar away for two weeks and then after those two weeks when I take my guitar out again I'm inspired

Lo your post last week opened up a huge emotion for you. This will take time to process and move on from.I'm not sure what you did with the sharing but I really hope you managed to show it with someone that you can talk to on a one to one basis.
The writing skills are still there you just need to concentrate on other areas.

Thanks everyone for replying I've dealt with writer's block before but this time is so frustrating. You know that feeling when you want to say something to someone and you suddenly forget what you wanted to say and you feel like it's on the tip of your tongue? That's what I've been feeling now for a while.

Thanks for sharing your tips on how you deal with a creative block I'm going to cross my fingers and try some of them Happy

I always do something pointless and mindless when I'm out of ideas, like walking around for an hour or trying to fill up an entire piece of paper with scribbles. It makes my mind wander and usually something good comes of it.

Try writing about writer's block, that usually gets me out of it pretty fast or I go to an area with a lot of people and go "People watching" with my friends. We'll just sit down and observe the people around us and bounce stories off each other about the people we see walk by. It's not as crazy as it sounds, I swear.
