The surname... That's where you put your surname... As in your last name... The one that follows your first name :p

A swap is swapping items with someone you have been partnered up with so yes you're right. It's generally crafts that you send so it's a little more personal and each swap has a theme, e.g. a halloween swap that has just finished, were items to do with halloween Happy

Hope that helped a little Happy

Swapping here isn't a specific feature of the site. But a bunch of "veterans" have gotten together to put up some general "rules" that have worked for them in the past. I've collected them all and assigned them to two topics. If you want to try your hand at swapping, you should check out the Newbie Swap here:

<a href="/board/creative/swap_shop/4415-newbie-vs-vet-swap-new">Newbie Vs. Vet Swap (NEW)</a>

The rules of this swap are a bit different than normal swaps. This swap is basically a way to help you to feel confident in joining a privately hosted swap. Most hosts now prefer that you have completed the newbie swap before they allow you to join in theirs.

Rules to privately run swaps are different, according to the host's preference. But, even though each swap is individual, there are some rules that are pretty standard. Actually, rather than rules, they're more like guidelines. You can find a list of these, and some other ideas on what to expect here:

<a href="/board/creative/swap_shop/4160-swap-guide-end-survey" rel="bookmark" style="font-size:14px;">Swap Guide / End Survey</a>

Please read the SECOND post for the tips and other general swap rules. The first post is reserved for the Survey that many swappers like to take after they've completed their swap.

Again, since the site it's self doesn't "host" the swaps, these posts aren't exactly set in stone. They're simply a compilation of ideas generated by a group of serious swappers who have had a lot of experience. (By that, I don't mean me...lol. I just keep the threads organized.) But I will answer any other questions I can, if you need me. ;)

Hope this helps!
