Last night I made vegetarian tacos with quorn mince, they were delicious and just as good as meaty tacos.

A cup is an actual proper measurement!
I bought a set of cups recently- it's like when you buy proper teaspoons and tbsps and things, they're all held together in a ring and you get 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup, as well as whole tsps and things.

I looooove them.

http://www.recipegoldmine.com/kitchart/kitchart2.html tells you how much a cup is why didn't I think of that before! OOO we have great new electric scales the other scales we had had for longer then I've been alive for!

I've not done any baking since my mum made chocolate fairy cakes and I didn't really do anything apart from put the chocolate on top. I think.

I bought those kind of cups and tsp things too, following lots of botched baking from online recipes Happy Now most things work out.
All I need now is my mixer.
Question:
Should I buy a mixer(bowl, electric mixer) or should I buy one of those big blender things that has lots of attachments and you can use it for other kinds of cooking?

One of those electric mixer things with the whisk things attached. We have a blender and its rubbish and a bugger to clean!

Yeh the electric mixer seems the best to me and it's cheaper too Happy

I want one. I keep meaning to do some baking but can't really afford to get things I think I'll give my mum a list and ask nicely and also I need her to help me cook/bake anything!

I found a really adorable pink bundt pan at the thrift store this week. Yesterday I made a Double Fudge Bundt cake with a Cream Cheese flavored center. It was a little harder then I thought it would be, but it turned out delicious I think. Happy

I love bundt pans! I bought one for £11 (which is a lot of money to me!) just because I adored them.

I've only used it once so far but I tried to take the cake out before it was cool and it didn't work... ahem.

I'll try again next time I need to make a cake! I love it.

I am baking Mexican wedding cakes right now! Only with sesame instead of walnuts, and I halved the recipe because 1 cup of butter seemed excessive.

I made brownies earlier, for my friend's birthday =) it's this recipe for very low fat brownies in my Cookie and Biscuit Bible (seriously, such a wonderful book!) and they came out wonderfully. I made it round my boyfriend's and gave him a tiny bit and he said it was lovely and everyone wolfed them down

very low fat brownies?!
you *need* to do a how-to on them. a little bit of copyright law breaking never hurt anyone.

well can't you just use that sugar that isn't proper sugar, Splendor? and things like that? OMG I nearly put 'diet chocolate' lol
