When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

Making Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies with my mother when I was 7 years old. I was also trained as an assistant baker at the famous Alice Restaurant in Lenox, MA when I was a teenager.

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

I am lucky to have three kitchens. A small one in NYC, a medium one in Germany and a very large one in Pennsylvania. All are decorated with a colorful mix of vintage glassware and handmade objects both useful and decorative I've picked up in my travels. Organization can be a problem because I can never remember what I have where. I try to keep track of ingredients, decorating supplies and equipment on my iphone.

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Practice Practice Practice and be fearless

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

Frieda Kahlo and I would make her French macarons in vibrant colors to match her paintings.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

Not a crafter but my extensive travels and Scuba Diving/underwater world obsession provides endless creative inspiration.
