what does "vacation mode" mean? also, does it cost money to have an etsy account, or just to post items for sale, or just when something gets sold? i am interested. Happy

I think she means as of that date, she will not be selling anything in her store until Jan 3rd. And yeah there are fees to list and a transaction fee of 3.5% of the total sale price on each sale and that doesn't include the shipping charge, but no charge to open an account. I'm selling on dawanda which is free for now. They said that they would start charging a listing fee later this year but it hasn't happened yet. Oh well IDK, I'm opening another store on a site I set up, so there won't be any fees or anything whatsoever at any time. There are other sites that have no fees as well. Whichever one you go with, good luck.
And Sug, you would catch me at a time when I'm seriously BROKE!! Hope to have some extra cash after x-mas shopping.

Etsy charges a listing fee, so you have to pay the fee whether your item gets sold or not. Going to check out your store Sug!
