What is this Exacto Knife?

I keep hearing about the exacto knife, is it just another name for an ordinary craft knife of is it a special kind of craft knife?

It's like a scalpel
Basically a really sharp pointed small knife that lets you cut intricate things easily.

Depends, mostly they are a really sharp knife, much sharper than a regular craft knife because some people use it for sculpting clay (I've cut myself more than a few times on them) but basically ya, and they have a really small point at the top to cut out tiny sections, and they handle better than some other craft knives. But they aren't a specific brand, i get mine from my local dollar store.

have you ever used lino cutters!? I hurt myself more on the actual lino then with the cutters but cut myself pretty badly with one of them nearly fainted!!! it bled for aaaages!

An exacto knike is also just a box cutter. strong enough to cut through cardboard. I cut myself on my thumb once. Once was enough! Had to get stitches and everything. I went down to the bone and there was blood everywhere.

one time in high school this girl stabbed herself in the leg with an exacto knife, it was one of the most stupid things I have ever seen, and she was crying and everything, I mean who cuts on their bare legs?!??

Exacto knives are basically made like a pencil, metal handle, and a sharp edge to cut (kinda like a razor...but much sharper)...it makes it easy to maneuver...and get in small curvy areas. You gotta be really careful with them.
