Survey

Hello Happy
For one of my classes, I had to create a survey and ask different people of various ages for their input.
I was wondering if anyone on here might be able to fill it out and maybe put their own 2 cents in??

Name:
Age:
Current Occupation:

Rate these from 1-9 in order of importance (1being the most important of the group and 9 being least important of the group):
Body image-
Drug/Alcohol use-
Teen pregency-
Cliques-
Peer pressure-
Pressure from school-
Depression-
Eating disorders-
Gangs-

What do you think contributes to the negative teen choices and behavior in the community?

On a scale of 1 to 3, how often do you notice teens engaging in activites that could be considered dangerous or negative (1=never 2=sometimes 3=constantly)?

With all the stuff going on in the world today (from war, to natural disasters, to economic problems, to politics), do you think teens and their choices should be paid more attention to, less attention to, or the same attention its been getting? Why?

What's a way (or some ways) you think the community can help make a more positive impact on teens these days and help them make better/safer choices?

I think it needs a bit more attention than it is being given at the moment, as today's kids are tomorrow's future.

We should listen and analyze more their individual situation. Hear their problems and try to be understanding through what they go through. Let them know they're not alone and that this is not the end of the world.

Hope this is good enough Happy good luck with the survey.

I don't think teens and their choices should be focused on in the media as a negative image of teens is often shown which isn't good for teens and scares general community's. BUT I think teens and their choices should get more support by people close to them,eg. councellors or Form teachers in school etc.

Ummm... More one to one support and advice, For some individuals flexible learning programmes (like apprenticeships and stuff)are good because they encourage the individuals to build up their skills and experience without sitting in classrooms.

Hope this helps Happy

I think a lot of it has to do with teens' home lives. It seems like a lot of the kids I go to school with have really young, inexperienced parents due to teen pregnancy. So because they aren't getting a great up bringing they go out, rebel, do drugs, drink, etc. And this leads to teen pregnancy. It's really a vicious circle, and it's getting worse =(

Same. I think the world we live in today does a good job of helping teens out and giving them resources to help with their problems.

What's a way (or some ways) you think the community can help make a more positive impact on teens these days and help them make better/safer choices?
I think raising awareness of pressing issues for todays teens (body image, drug/alcohol use, teen pregnancy, etc.) helps a lot. The community I live in, and the schools in my town do a great job of this. I think the main way to raise awareness for these issues is schools. (three cheers for BHHS! ;) )

Hope this is what you were looking for =)
