Is my poor shoe fixable??

While getting ready for school to start up soon, I've been organizing my stuff, and have ended with my shoes.
I completely forgot about this one and its little...problem D:

I remember now though >_<' and the tear in the side.
I just don't remember how it happened (I just looked down one day and saw the rip in it).

Is there any way to fix it?
Can I...sew it back together?? :o

I don't know what the material is (it feels kinda plastic-y...vinyl? It's thin and smooth and can be eaisly bended).

Thanks y'all for your help! Happy

Ok so by the looks of this the shoe is leather or pleather fabric, its tough stuff soooo you may need a leather needle or if you have nerves of steel and the patience of a saint you can use a regular needle ! sooo i suggest a darning stich or blanket stich and use a little electrical tape to tack it in place from the inside hope this helps Happy
