Read through for me?
You. . . . Are I think going o be successful. Genius I love it
I'm not sure what happened or why my original post was deleted but I'll just post it again..
I am currently writing a story. It's about a girl named Margo who is 17 and she moves to New Jersey from Chicago. The problem is, everyone is like super stereotypical in this little town and she only finds comfort in this small forest behind her house. One day while she's in the forest, a mysterious goth boy shows up and shows a sudden interest in her. Meanwhile, she has this belief that everyone is put on the earth to do one duty, whether that be saving someone's life, or robbing a bank or even just like having a kid, this is their destiny. And once they have completed this destiny, they die.
It doesn't have a title yet and I am only about halfway done with it, but I really want someone to read it through for me so that I can get a clearer idea of the direction that I need to go, and the things that I need to work on.
Please reply or message me if you are interested Thanks
sorry for the late reply! wow the concept is pretty good. And I have to read the rest XD
I"d be happy to offer an opinion on the first 2,000 words. If you can't catch a reader by then, you'll need to re-vamp. But, that is just part of the process.
Do NOT post here.... email me at email@example.com. Your work, even your concept should be a tightly held secret. I offer willingly that I have no rights to whatever email you send me. (Public disclosure for your benefit. Be sure to save a screenshot of this.)
Ravens Trove Smartie pants with the best advice!!!! You are so right even about the concept, I have one and I can't let it out there at all! I am at a block too.... it sucks, but I don't want to risk my idea processing through someone else frist... Mel- you do have a fantastic idea, is this going to be a teen novel, short story, or adult novel?
Krista - find a writers conference! The block will dissipate in no time. There are also writers groups with mutual trust. I am looking for a writers group that offers a random subject each month rather than just focusing on my book, which is sadly neglected.
Also for blocks I HIGHLY recommend Larry Brooks, Deconstructing a story (online: Storeyfix). He has the exact formula for a best seller based on block buster movies! It's up to the writer to decide which rules to follow... or break, but it really gets you thinking hard about plot points, etc. Great guy!
Hi sorry for the late reply
Krista - This is going to be a YA novel probably, but I'm not really looking to get it published or anything I'm just trying to expand my writing to something other than short stories and poems.
Ravens Trove - I think I am going to work on the story a bit more before I send it out, so it should be out to you in about a week or sooner since you only want the first 2000 words.
Let me know when you've sent it as my spam filter may be hungry that day. Send me a CO&K PM, K?
We'd love to know what you think - Leave your reply right away
