AHHHH!!!! I've been dying to learn Quenya for ages!! I haven't learned to speak it yet, but there's this really awesome woman at a local new age store that taught me how to write in Elvish - although she didn't specify which form it was. I need to find that sheet where she wrote down the alphabet for me, and then I can start doing that again!! Hey if I find it, I can make you a copy and put it in our swap! ^.^

Dunno if you're still looking but http://folk.uib.no/hnohf/qcourse.htm

It's a free online course for the full language. Tolkien was first and foremost a linguist and each language he used in LotR was fully developed before the story was even written. In fact, he had originally wanted all the LotR books to have been written in elven but figured that wouldn't have been reasonable.

If you don't want the entire course, there is also an English-Quenyen dictionary here: http://www.rialian.com/quenya-english.htm

Quenya is one of the elven languages created by Tolkien as used in Lord of the Rings. He made several new languages for the races in the books. That was one and Sindarin was another (both for elves), along with Khuzdul (Dwarves) and Westron (the common language spoken by humans and hobbits and all other manners of critters). Tokien was primarily a Philologist, a studier of language itself, who was fluent in 13 languages and knowledgeable in over a dozen more. Makes me feel a bit inadequate actually lol
