What are your winter clothing staples?

Easy enough question, eh? What will you be wearing all winter this year? Share where you got it all, too, if you like! Even post photos Happy

I'm going to try to get a picture of all my stuff once it gets colder. It's been about 5 below freezing so far and that's not really cold enough for cords yet. lol

My list:
grey & purple corduroys
black Nine West boots
green wool jacket
silver faux fur coat
Isotoner Smartgloves
faux fur "Fargo" hat
various handmade scarves
layered t-shirts
maybe one or two of my fiance's flannels (lol)

Its Freezing rain/snow mixture here, its awful. >.< But i wear pretty much the same type of things year around, just layer more in winter. I usually wear the most:
My knee-length Doc Marten boots, leggings with skirts (sometimes leggings under jeans if its really freakin cold), band sweatshirts, faux-leather jackets (i got a black one & a red one with hoods), long sweater dresses (with leggings), flannel shirts, my enormous glove collection. lol
My sisters dying for those smartgloves! lol

Oh, the Smartgloves are so awesome! And they really work! I got to try mine for the first time on Wednesday since it was cold and windy when I went to my morning class.

I have no idea! It really depends on how much my stomach goes down after baby is born. I have some amazing vintage 1950s wool pencil skirts that I love and normally live in during winter. I also have a vintage red wool 1960s coat that I is my go-to winter coat. I live in stockings and tights and I have a ton of sweaters. But it all really depends on how my body decides to go after baby.

I don't wear a lot of skirts in the winter... though I wish I did. I'll have to make some cool skirts this year Tongue

Aren't wool coats awesome?

Long underwear!
I know it's not sexy but heck I gotta be warm and layers it is!

Yes, I love my vintage wool items. The quality of wool is so much better than anything I find now a days. I do wear a jeans frequently in the winter because we have such nasty winter weather. But I am more comfortable in skirts and dresses so I try to get away with wearing those with stockings or nylons.

I live in skinny jeans all winter. They pair perfectly with all of my boots. I just bought all different colored and patterned jeans this year. I am so excited to wear them!

Beanies! I'm a crocheter, and I cannot make enough... seriously. It keeps the ears warm and covers you for bad hair days Happy
Jeans, combat boots, sweaters, and a green military jacket.

skinny jeans,
boots - both riding boots and bear paws
SOCKS - I never wear socks the rest of the year because I'm in ballet flats, heels, or sandals most the time but winter means boots and boots means the warmest brightest funniest socks because no one sees them anyways Happy
leggings / tights - dresses and skirts all year!
Scarves - an awesome accessory that's only acceptable part of the year Happy

I have a few all-season scarves, but I never really dress up often enough to wear them.
I have so many pairs of funky knee-high socks that are going to be under my boots this year... I have two different rainbow pairs, and a pair of zebra-print toe socks. Tongue

Maybe I'll get daring and mix and match my rainbow socks that no one will see anyway, haha.

Every other day or so I think about this post and wish I had an answer. I am a new Mother of a six month old boy and life has been chaotic on the home front since he was born. We have moved twice in the past couple of months, so I'm just getting my winter sweaters unpacked. I lived in skinny jeans and long old navy tanks that were a dollar a piece from the Goodwill. I'm searching for direction as I continue to transition through the seasons and as a mother. Thanks for coming up with this post. It's been great to read and has got me thinking.

Glad to hear it. I'm sure the transition will get easier.
