Your opinion

I am getting a new sewing machine and was wonder what you guys thought was a good machine. I am on a budget and would like to stay in the budget of 50 to 100 dollars nothing more. Your opinion is greatly appreciated!

With that kind of budget you aren't really going to get a good machine. Your best bet would be to raise it to $150 or so and visit smaller local sewing shops to see if they could make you a deal on a demo model, or maybe a refurbished machine. JoAnn might have some machines for about $100 but they might not be very good.

Bernina and Husqvarna are two very good brands but they are also typically pretty expensive. Singer and Brother are cheaper, with Brother having some very low budget machines. Singer is probably the better bet of those two.

I say look around at local shops, see what you can find. I got a $900 machine for $300 because it was a demo model at a local shop. Check thrift stores, too. Sometimes they will have old machines for cheap, and with the money you save you could have it professionally tuned up.
