Feedspot

Anyone know what feedspot is? I received a weird e-mail from them saying they are a google-based blog following site and that my blog was gaining a lot of followers on their site. So I went to the site and all of these followers are men. I'm pretty sure that none of them are interested in a DIY blog so I'm pretty sure that this is a scam. Was wondering if anyone else had heard of this site.

It's an "almost" scam... more of a spam. Feedspot has a unsavory reputation for reporting false numbers to bloggers who subscribe to them. They are supposed to offer easier adaptation of HTML to all types of browsers and register site clicks, etc.

Several months ago they made a move to become more legitimate and they received decent accolades as being a "middle of hte pack" RSS reader. However, the "user" reviews are not as friendly.

Advice? Skip it. If you're going to pay for a service look for one that is the top of the pack and has a clean reputation with a lot of history.

Have been using Feedspot for over 6 months and it seems to work great for me.

Thanks Raven, I was wondering what sort of scam they were running- I don't trust anything that doesn't look legit at first glance and if my computer genius friends haven't heard of it then that makes me even more wary. I appreciate the heads up.

This is HILARIOUS!!!!

The founder of Feedspot, Anuj Agarwal, comes into the comment section pretending to be “Manish Mohnani”, to counteract any negative comments about Feedspot.

Compare the photos:
http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/users/167547 - “Manish Mohnani”
http://www.quora.com/Anuj-Agarwal-1 - Anuj Agarwal
Both sites say the fellow in the picture is the founder of Feedspot.
Same photo used for both names..

So the founder of Feedspot has been using Feedspot for six months and “it seems to work great" for him. LOL
Priceless!
