Smash book

I just discovered smash books. Does anyone have one? I think they also go by junk journals. I haven't started one yet, but I am thinking about it.

I didn't buy the branded smash book, but just the pen and made my own version with chipboard covers, book rings and a paper pack. I've only done a couple of pages as yet. They are pretty fun! I'm not keen on 'traditional' scrapbooking, as although the layouts are beautiful, they can be quite formal and all the embellishments are expensive to buy. i like smash booking as its much more free and I feel its ok to include magazine pictures and receipts etc..

I have never been into scrapbooking either. I agree they are beautiful, but I feel the embellishments take away from the pictures. You see the theme more than the pictures. I didn't realize you can purchase the pen alone. I think the pen is so much fun with the glue on one end and the ink on the other.

I like to Journal but think Smash books are just a marketing tool to get you to use certain brands.A pen , glue stick and papers where around a long time before the branding.
